The Vitamix 5200 is the one to buy if you want the machine to outlast the argument about it. The design is 19 years old, and that is the point: Vitamix backs it for 7 years and repairs rather than replaces, where Ninja lists 1.

If a Vitamix is more machine than you need, the Ninja Professional Plus is the one to look at: 1400W and a 72-oz pitcher, with a 1-year warranty instead of seven.
