What cookies we use and how to control them

Last updated: October 12, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how JellyReviews Editorial uses cookies and similar technologies on jellyreviews.com. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

01What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences over time. Cookies are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to site owners.

We use both first-party cookies (set by us) and third-party cookies (set by our service providers and affiliate partners).

02Categories of cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies: These are required for the Site to function. They enable core functionality such as security, session management, and accessibility preferences. You cannot disable these and still use the Site.

Analytics cookies: These help us understand how visitors interact with the Site by collecting and reporting information. Google Analytics 4 sits here, and it is opt-in: it can set identifiers and cookies only after you have opted in to analytics and confirmed its disclosure in our banner. Vercel Analytics also measures traffic, but it runs without cookies and is currently mounted independently of the optional analytics setting, so it is not affected by the toggle. We use both to improve the Site over time.

Affiliate tracking cookies: The merchant or its network may set a tracking cookie, or use similar attribution, when you click a product link. It allows the merchant to attribute any subsequent purchase to us. Whether a cookie is set, and how long it lasts, depends on the program; not every relationship we have works through one. Without this attribution, we would not earn commissions.

Preference cookies: These remember your choices (such as theme preference or whether you have dismissed the cookie banner) to provide a more personalized experience.

03Specific cookies and storage we use

jellymark-consent-v1: First-party, preference, stored in your browser's local storage until you clear it. Records the cookie choices you made in the banner. Without it we would have to ask you on every page.

jellymark-cta-variant-v1: First-party, preference, local storage. Keeps the version of a page layout you were shown consistent between visits, so the page does not change shape under you.

_pin_unauth: Set by Pinterest, advertising, up to 1 year. Written only after you accept advertising cookies. It lets Pinterest tell us how many people who saw one of our Pins came to the Site.

is_eu: Set by Pinterest in session storage, advertising, cleared when you close the tab. Records whether Pinterest treats your request as coming from the EU.

Google Ads conversion-linker cookie (observed as _gcl_au): Third-party, advertising, written by Google on page views where advertising consent is granted. It lets Google Ads connect visits that happen over time. Because consent applies at page load, an already-placed cookie is not removed if you withdraw consent later in the same visit — clear this site's data in your browser settings to remove it (see Managing cookies). With advertising consent denied at page load, the base tag reports a page view for account verification but writes no advertising cookie.

Amazon Associates, Awin, and brand-direct affiliate cookies: Third-party, affiliate tracking, typically 24 hours for Amazon and up to 90 days for a network or brand program. These are set on the merchant's own site after you click through, not on ours.

Google Analytics 4 (_ga and related identifiers): First-party analytics cookies set on jellyreviews.com's domain by the Google Analytics 4 script (Google is an external service provider, but the cookies themselves are first-party, set for our domain). Duration is set by Google. Written only after you opt in to analytics AND confirm the Google Analytics 4 disclosure in our cookie banner (an earlier analytics choice made when our traffic analytics was a cookieless service does not turn Google Analytics 4 on). It measures site traffic and page views in aggregate for JellyReviews. Withdrawing consent stops future collection by our site; it does not delete data Google has already received.

Our Vercel Analytics traffic measurement runs without cookies and without an identifier for you, so it appears nowhere on this list.

04Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Each browser manages cookies differently, see the help menu in your browser for specific instructions.

When you first visit the Site, we show a cookie banner that lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. To change your answer later, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the banner will ask again on your next visit.

Note that disabling affiliate tracking cookies does not affect the price you pay, but it does mean we will not earn a commission on your purchase.

05Do Not Track signals

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. We currently do not respond to DNT signals because there is no industry consensus on what DNT means or how websites should respond. We continue to monitor this and may update our approach if a standard emerges.

06Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we add, remove, or change the cookies we use. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. The consent banner is shown to visitors who have not yet made a choice. If you have already chosen and want to review or change that choice, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the banner will ask again on your next visit.
