What Lumibricks is

Lumibricks is a brand that makes building-block sets with lights built into the structure. The storefront is lumibricks.com, and the catalog is organized into themed collections: cyberpunk street scenes, an old west line, retro houses, farm life, road trip cabins and more. The brand describes its own product on its affiliate page as the "world's first brand of light bricks", and its about page says the company was "founded by a team of passionate adult builders".

That adult orientation is not incidental. The about page talks about sets "built slowly and displayed proudly, and collected as a world that keeps growing", and the product line reads like display pieces rather than throwaway playset builds. The pieces are standard brick sizes, the lights are wired through the build, and several sets add modular floors or audio. Everything below is read from Lumibricks' own pages on 2026-09-29, and the store edits its pages without notice, so re-check the product page before you order.

Lumibricks and the former FUNWHOLE name

Lumibricks, formerly known as FUNWHOLE. That is the framing the evidence supports, and it is the framing this article sticks to. Three things establish the link between the two names, all read on 2026-09-29: funwhole.com redirects to lumibricks.com, the Shopify store behind the site still carries the handle funwhole.myshopify.com, and the lumibricks.com footer still links to a legacy funwhole.com rewards page.

What Lumibricks has not published is a timeline. There is no official statement we found about when the change happened, whether it involved an acquisition, or whether any engineering or product decisions changed as part of the rename, so none of those claims are made here. If you are searching for the old name, you are looking for the same brand: current lumibricks.com pages and the store's account system both sit on the same FUNWHOLE-era Shopify infrastructure.

How the light-up building system works

Every set page we read for this guide lists an LED count, from 13 LEDs on the Aurora Cabin L9090 to 36 LEDs on the Film Studio Tower 19015, and the light system is part of the structure rather than a lamp you stand beside it. Izakaya F9073, for example, ships with "20 LED lights, 12 brick bags and a clear assembly guide", and the page describes "Dazzle color lighting, Cyberpunk unique lighting system" for its neon signs.

Power is USB, and Lumibricks' own FAQ is specific about it: the lights can be powered from a standard USB source, are "designed for a maximum output of 5 volts", and short-term use with a USB charger is generally safe while prolonged use is not recommended, so the brand suggests a low-voltage source such as a power bank for best results.

Two extensions appear on specific sets. Modular construction: the Neon Tech Tower is a four-floor build with stackable floors and a "dynamic flowing light strip", the Game Stack L9095 is built from interchangeable modules (retro arcade, VR combat pod, a prize pool), and the Film Studio Tower stacks four modular floors around a transparent elevator shaft. And one set in this lineup adds sound: the Luna Cottage 10014 is, in Lumibricks' words, its "First-Ever 'Singing' Building Set", with a pre-loaded meditation track and a Type-C port you can use to upload your own music.

Lumibricks bricks and other brick systems

On compatibility, the only claim this guide repeats is Lumibricks' own. The brand's official blog post "Are Lumibricks Compatible with LEGO? Full Guide & Comparison 2025" states that "Lumibricks bricks are fully compatible with LEGO system bricks", and it explains the system dimensions it says it follows: stud pitch of 8.0 mm, brick height of 9.6 mm, plate height of 3.2 mm, stud diameter of 4.8 mm, inner wall clearance of roughly 1.7 mm, and high-quality ABS plastic. If you mix brands, that official guide is the source to read, because it is the brand describing its own system.

One clarification worth making: compatibility with another brick system is not an affiliation with it. Lumibricks' own page uses the comparison guide format to answer the question, and nothing here should be read as an endorsement by, or a partnership with, any other brick brand.

The Lumibricks collections at a glance

The store navigation on 2026-09-29 lists twelve collections. Eleven are Lumibricks' original in-house themes: Town Life, Street Fusion, Cyberpunk Neoncity, The Old West, Retro House, Steampunk World, Farm Life, Middle Ages, Vacation, Road Trip and Vehicle. The twelfth is Blade Runner 2049, and it sits apart from the original themes.

  • ▸Town Life: everyday street scenes, newsstands, bookshops and market buildings.
  • ▸Street Fusion: urban landmarks and mixed-use towers, including the Film Studio Tower.
  • ▸Cyberpunk Neoncity: the neon-lit night line, including Izakaya F9073, Neon Tech Tower 17011 and Game Stack L9095.
  • ▸The Old West: frontier town builds, including the Fortune Club Saloon 14019 and the small Western Stagecoach.
  • ▸Retro House: vintage house builds, including the Luna Cottage 10014 singing set.
  • ▸Steampunk World: clockwork machines, workshops and steam vehicles.
  • ▸Farm Life: barns, fields and countryside scenes.
  • ▸Middle Ages: castles, village squares and medieval town buildings.
  • ▸Vacation: beach and resort scenes (a small collection in the current navigation).
  • ▸Road Trip: roadside and nature builds, including the Aurora Cabin L9090.
  • ▸Vehicle: cars, trucks and wheeled builds.
  • ▸Blade Runner 2049: a film-inspired line, separate from the original themes.

Collection sizes shift as the store adds and retires products, so the themes are named rather than quoting live product counts. If a specific theme matters to you, open its collection page and read the current lineup.

Representative Lumibricks sets

The six sets below come from the collections above and span a wide spread of the catalog. Among the sets reviewed for this guide, piece counts run from 1987 pieces (Izakaya F9073) to 3891 pieces (Film Studio Tower 19015), LED counts run from 13 (Aurora Cabin L9090) to 36 (Film Studio Tower), and finished sizes run from roughly 10 x 10 x 9 inches (Aurora Cabin) to 14 x 10 x 24 inches (Film Studio Tower). Each spec below is read from the product page on 2026-09-29.

The Izakaya is the entry point into the Cyberpunk line in this lineup: a Japanese street scene with three small buildings, neon signage and night lighting. At 1987 pieces it is the smallest of these six, and its lighting is the "Dazzle color" street neon rather than a single static strip.

The Neon Tech Tower is the landmark build of the Cyberpunk line: a vertical four-floor tower with a moving light strip running up the facade. It is the narrow, tall option if you want a display centerpiece on a shelf or cabinet, and its own page sells it to adult builders in so many words.

The Luna Cottage is the set in this lineup with sound: a hidden audio module plays a pre-loaded track, and the Type-C port accepts your own music. If a build with light and audio matters more than sheer height, this is the one.

Lumibricks Film Studio Tower 19015 brick-built studio tower with lit floors and minifigures, on a dark studio background

Lumibricks Film Studio Tower 19015 Building Set

  • ✓3891 pieces, 36 LEDs and 15 light strings, 14.29 x 10.12 x 24.49 inches (per product page)

The Film Studio Tower is the biggest and tallest of the six, with 36 LEDs plus 15 light strings, and a dedicated shooting-mode light setup on one floor for a staged scene. Lumibricks calls it "the tallest Lumibricks set to date", which is the brand's claim, not a measurement this guide made.

Lumibricks Fortune Club Saloon 14019 brick-built Wild West saloon with glowing signs and minifigures

Lumibricks Fortune Club Saloon 14019 Building Set

  • ✓2782 pieces, 14 LEDs, 12.6 x 10.9 x 11.2 inches (per product page)
  • ✓A Wild West casino saloon with gaming tables and a bar
  • ✓Texas Hold'em, blackjack and dominoes mini-games built into the build
  • ✓Lumibricks calls it the "first Wild West brick set on the market to feature a vintage casino"
  • ✓The Old West collection, SKU 14019#US

The Fortune Club Saloon is the Old West line's showpiece: a casino interior with card tables, a bar and the neon of a frontier main street. It is the pick if the theme matters more than size, and it is the only one of these six from the Old West line.

Lumibricks Aurora Cabin L9090 brick-built snowy cabin with an aurora viewing house and minifigures

Lumibricks Aurora Cabin L9090 Building Set

  • ✓2425 pieces, 13 LEDs, 12.2 x 10.8 x 9.4 inches (per product page)
  • ✓A glass cabin with a fire pit and an aurora viewing glass house
  • ✓Nordic snow landscape setting
  • ✓13 LED lights and 2 clear assembly guides
  • ✓Road Trip collection, SKU L9090#US

The Aurora Cabin is the quiet one: a snow cabin in a Nordic landscape with an aurora viewing house, and the fewest LEDs of the six. It is the build for a nature scene or a bedside table rather than a tower, and it is the set this research kept circling back to as the calm alternative to the neon line.

Which Lumibricks build fits which builder

  • ▸First build or a small footprint: the Western Stagecoach (293 pieces, The Old West) is the smallest set this research confirmed a spec line for (the catalog also lists a Factory House of Music at 265 pieces in its slug); the Izakaya is the gentler entry into the Cyberpunk line at 1987 pieces.
  • ▸A display centerpiece: the Film Studio Tower (3891 pieces, tallest set to date per Lumibricks) or the Neon Tech Tower for a narrower shelf footprint.
  • ▸Light and sound: the Luna Cottage is the set with an audio module and a Type-C music port.
  • ▸A themed scene with a story: the Fortune Club Saloon (Old West casino) or the Izakaya (Japanese street food scene).
  • ▸A calm, nature-themed build: the Aurora Cabin.
  • ▸Swappable setups: the Game Stack L9095 (2580 pieces, 23 LEDs) is built from interchangeable modules you can reconfigure.

Nothing above is a ranking. The six sets reviewed for this guide sort by use case, not by score, and there is no commission-driven ordering in the list: which build is right depends on the shelf space, the theme you want on it, and whether you want lights only or lights and sound.

Instructions, replacement parts, warranty and support

Lumibricks' FAQ states that "all of our products come with printed instruction manuals", and the manuals library at manuals.lumibricks.com hosted 249 manuals at the time this guide was read (2026-09-29), searchable, with SKUs matching the store's. The product pages confirm the pattern from the other side, listing brick bags with each set, and the store also makes PDF manuals available for download.

Warranty is stated in the FAQ in one sentence: "Lumibricks products come with a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase." The replacement-parts page and the FAQ describe the same process for a damaged or missing part: photograph the part and the build step it belongs to, note the order number, and send the photos of the affected components.

Light troubleshooting is documented too. Lumibricks' FAQ describes the sequence for a dead light circuit: unplug the cables on the expansion board, plug the USB into one port, then re-plug the light wires one at a time. If everything is dead at once, the FAQ says the expansion board is likely damaged; if a single wire is dead, it points to a short circuit in that wire.

On materials and safety, the FAQ attributes independent testing to third parties and lists compliance with "national and international safety regulations, including (but not limited to) 3C certification". 3C is a China certification programme; Lumibricks does not name a US testing body in that answer, so treat the claim as the brand's own.

Frequently asked questions

Are Lumibricks sets compatible with LEGO bricks? Lumibricks' own guide says yes: the official blog post "Are Lumibricks Compatible with LEGO? Full Guide & Comparison 2025" states that "Lumibricks bricks are fully compatible with LEGO system bricks" and explains the system dimensions. That is the brand's claim; see the compatibility section above for the details it publishes.

Is Lumibricks the same company as FUNWHOLE? Lumibricks, formerly known as FUNWHOLE: funwhole.com redirects to lumibricks.com, the Shopify store keeps the funwhole.myshopify.com handle, and the lumibricks.com footer still links a legacy FUNWHOLE rewards page. Lumibricks publishes no date or ownership timeline for the change, so none is claimed here.

How are the lights powered? USB, at a maximum of 5 volts per Lumibricks' FAQ. Short-term use with a USB charger is fine; for prolonged sessions the brand recommends a low-voltage source such as a power bank.

What is the warranty? Lumibricks states a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase, and the replacement-parts process is documented on the store's support pages.

Where do I find the instructions? A printed manual ships in the box, and PDF downloads are available from the manuals library at manuals.lumibricks.com.

Do all Lumibricks sets light up? Every set page we read for this guide lists an LED count, and on those pages the count runs from 13 LEDs on the Aurora Cabin to 36 on the Film Studio Tower.
