The best weighted blankets of 2026

Four of the checks compare a listing against itself, and the fifth asks whether it hands you anything you can take somewhere else. All five can be answered from the product page. One: is the fill material described the same way in the title, the bullets and the Fill Material row? Two: does the stated weight match the Item Weight row? Three: does the stated size match the Item Dimensions row? Four: does everything the title and the bullets say about which variant this is agree with the Size row and the size selector? A bullet that pins a size to the weight on sale is a statement about this variant and it counts; a bullet that names other weights, or other sizes for other buyers, is about the range and it does not. Five: does it publish a third-party number, a certificate or a patent, that you can look up? Baloo passes four and fails the fill. Bearaby passes four and fails the size. YnM passes three and fails the fill and the third-party number. Gravity passes three and fails the variant and the third-party number. CuteKing passes two and fails the weight, the variant and the third-party number.

That leaves two ties, and both break on one question that none of the five checks asks: does the listing's own identifier carry the variant? Baloo goes ahead of Bearaby because its Model Name is O3-FBA-B-15 and ends in the weight you are buying, where Bearaby's Model Name is Napper and its part number is 1-0-1, neither of which encodes anything. YnM goes ahead of Gravity for the same reason: YnM's Manufacturer Part Number is Fbashenhui15lbs, where Gravity publishes no part number and its Model Number, 101, and Model Name, Gravity Weighted Blanket, carry neither the weight nor the size. We use the identifier because none of the five checks reads it, so a tiebreak on it cannot charge a product twice for one fact. Note also what does not count for check five: a UPC is an inventory code, not a verdict from a third party, so it is not the kind of number that check is looking for.

Four of these five state a rule and they nearly agree. YnM bullet 4: take 10 percent of your body weight and add 1 pound. Bearaby bullet 6: around 10 percent of your overall body weight. CuteKing bullet 1: 10 percent of your body weight. Gravity says the same thing, but only in a chart inside its product photographs, not in any bullet. Where they part company is the condition they attach to it. Bearaby says round up to the heavier option if you fall between two weights. CuteKing says take the lighter one if you have never used a weighted blanket, and allow 2 to 7 days to get used to it. Those are different questions, so a reader who is both between sizes and new to this gets pulled two ways. None of it is a medical instruction and none of it cites anything. These are makers describing how they size their own product, which is worth exactly that much and no more.

The charts printed in the product photographs commit to more than the bullets do, and one of them argues with itself. YnM prints a body weight against nine blanket weights in its single-sleeper column, from 5 pounds at 40 pounds of body weight to 25 pounds at 240, with 15 pounds sitting against 140. CuteKing gives a range rather than a point and puts its 20-pound blanket at 170 to 190 pounds. Gravity heads its chart designed to be around 10 percent of your bodyweight and then starts the 15-pound blanket at 100 pounds and up, which is 15 percent at the bottom of that range: the rule and the chart are in the same image and they do not agree. Read the chart on the listing you are buying from, because that is where YnM, CuteKing and Gravity each commit to a body weight for the exact weight in the box: a point, a range and a floor respectively. Bearaby prints a size diagram rather than a body weight chart, so it never names one. Only YnM also puts a body weight in its title, the ideal for about 140 pounds that its 15-pound blanket is sold under.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission publishes its whole recall register. All five brands here were searched in the fields that name a company, manufacturer, retailer, importer, distributor and product name. Exactly one row came back for any of them, and it is not what it looks like: a 2008 recall of Travel Trac Gravity bicycle resistance trainers by Nashbar, a different company selling a different thing. Searching the free prose instead would have produced three more, all of them the word gravity used to describe how something falls. So the register is a floor all five clear. It does not sort them and it is not a point in anyone's favor here.

Searching that register for records naming both weighted and blanket returns two rows, and both are children's products. Target recalled Pillowfort children's weighted blankets in December 2022 after two deaths: the notice records that a 4-year-old girl and a 6-year-old girl became entrapped in the cover and died of asphyxia, and that Target had received four reports of children becoming entrapped. YourHealthToolkit recalled children's 5-pound blankets in October 2023, with no injuries reported. Both notices describe the same mechanism in the same words: a young child can become entrapped by unzipping and entering the blanket. Those blankets weighed 5 and 6 pounds. Two things follow for this page. A blanket with a cover a child can open and climb into is the hazard both notices describe, and none of the five here is described by its maker as a children's product: every one of their Age Range rows reads Adult, and CuteKing's bullet 5 says its blanket is not recommended under 3 years old or for pregnant women and should not cover the face. Amazon files that same CuteKing under Kid's Weighted Blankets, though, so the 20-pound blanket on this page turns up in a category a parent would browse.
